Thirparappu Waterfalls - a photoblog

Thirparappu is a beautiful waterfall which originates from the Kodayar river. The falls has a rocky riverbed at the top from where water falls down to a height of arpund 50 ft. During monsoon season, the falls will be in full splendor. At the time of my visit, it was not in its full splendor as summer had already started. There is also a Lord Siva temple adjacent to the falls which figures in the Shivalaya Ottam during Sivaratri. This is an ancient temple containing inscriptions from the Pandyas.
There is a mantapa made of stone on the rocky river bed at the top of the falls.
