Sunrise at Kanyakumari - a photoblog

Kanyakumari or Cape Comorin is the southern most tip of Indian mainland. From Trivandrum, it is close to 100 kms on the National Highway. Kanyakumari is a famous tourist spot for both foreign and domestic tourists and there is a steady influx of tourists almost all through the year. Among many tourist attractions such as Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue, the sun rise and sun set in Kanyakumari is also a major attraction with major crowd turnouts at both the above times. Although I have witnessed numerous sunsets at Kanyakumari, I hadn't witnessed a sun rise at Kanyakumari. As it is a one day trip from Trivandrum, what happens usually is we start at around 7 AM from Trivandrum, reach Kanyakumari around 10'o clock, visit the places there and return after seeing the sunset. But this trip was exclusively to witness the sun rise at Cape. It was a race in the morning to reach Cape in time, but thankfully we reached there in time and were able to capture the magnificent sun rise with our cameras. Here are some photos I took.
